about

The last and final iteration of cv313's live excursions created for the 2018 MUTEK Festival (Montreal, Canada). A nearly 2.5 hour sonic blanket unlike anything heard before from this project, enveloping hypnotic layers of analog soul slowly evolving in thru eternity. These recordings are some of the most inspired and imaginative sound universes we've ever put down to tape. It is worth noting these recordings were not mixed or prepared as a live set but rather the unreleased content chosen for the performance, which unfortunately never made it to the stage. Also included is an hour long epic of oceanic submersion from the variant guise. This opus is a seemingly infinite journey of luscious textural movements with an opiated quality, altering the very perception of space and time.

In preparation for this performance, these previously unreleased pieces were redesigned and revisited from productions made while assembling and building our second modular synth (sadly, no longer in operation) in my time working at Crosstalk Distribution in Chicago. Ambient/Dub/House/Techno Buyer (2001-2008)

Giving credit where it's due, this project couldn't have manifested without the help of Phillip Hertz (RIP) who was instrumental in assisting and assembling this near 200lb relic and brought with him a school of thought I alone wouldn't have realized was achievable. He was always engaging in ideas (think-tank, if you will) and had a way to source unique components despite the scarcity. (this unit was made circa 1960's) He always encouraged and promoted sonic exploration in his well of musical knowledge. My time spent in that run-down warehouse on Michigan Ave. were some of the best days I can recall working in the music industry, with each day bringing a new musical discovery. His guidance and education in avant-garde, dub, experimental, jazz and roots were truly second to none; he will always be missed and treasured here. Dubbing it through eternity....
